Tampa's first zoo can trace its history back to the 1930s. In 1957, this collection of animals and birds was moved to its current location on 41 acres. Recognized as one of the top three mid-sized zoos in the country, it is home to more than 1,500 animals, some endangered, who reside in natural habitats.
